Meteo Hoek van Holland is an amateur weather station which has been set-up by a resident of Hoek van Holland. Weather observation is done with professional equipment and stored in an online database.
The weather station of Meteo Hoek van Holland is situated on the border of Hoek van Holland, next to the grass-land and green houses of the "Haakweg". Because the weather station is, on the other hand, placed in the backyard of a house, temperature could be a little bit higher than temperature measured close to the beach.
Equipment consist of a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station, a NSLU2 mini-server and software of Meteohub.de Data is being uploaded to the webserver and made readable by various php scripts. Next to this an Axis Network Cam has been placed 500 meters away from the weather station with a view over the "Kano Lake".
